I am wondering how I can see the references for a particular relationship. I can always use the DDR for this but I feel like I am simply missing something here.

    Hi, Robin!

InspectorPro shows Dependencies and References for items, you can click on the field to show the details. I included a screenshot to show you what I referring to. Is this what you're asking about?

No.. See attached screen shot from the FM Design Report. This shows me where a relationship is being used. How do I see this in Inspector?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the screenshot. Look under Schema for Relationships (see screenshot 1). You can click to see details (see screenshot 2).

Let me know if that is what you’re looking for.

    Hi:

This does not tell me where the relationships are being used. How do I see that? As in the FM design report, I want to know what fields, layouts, value lists and scripts use a certain relationship. I can get to this but going to the “table occurrences” section of the report. For Inspector, I can go to tables but the information it gives is limited (and the info under relationships does not tell me any of this… unless I am missing something).

    thanks.

Ever since FileMaker 7 changes you never refer to a relationship per se.

Instead what you need to check is if that Table Occurrence is being used.

    Does that make sense?

In the screenshot you sent from the Design Report it is the table occurrence that is what you are looking at and not the relationship

With regards to InspectorPro - it will also tell you all the information you need in terms of all the places where it is being used.

    Hope that answers your questions.

Not really… but that’s ok. I can use the Design Report for this piece. That works just fine.
    Thanks.

    Robyne,

    One last comment.

If you look at the relationships and look at the dependencies you’ll see that we do show that table as being depended on… but I also see what you mean in that you want to see that it is referenced by that relationship. Again I’ll take a look and see how we can make that more obvious.
