There have been some updates made so make sure you are using the
latest version.

Build 168

Have the database names changed? If so then it will be looking
at things differently because it uses the database names as part of
the comparison.

And it also uses the internal IDs But I feel that those IDs
don’t change even if the file is cloned.

Let me know if this helps you.

Hello,
Maybe I am having some troubles
understanding how the comparison is supposed to work, or perhaps my
files are messed up, but I am finding the comparison of two files I
have to be useless. It is telling me that everything has been
changed. It reports 22,000+ changes. For exaple, in layout objects,
it says that in one file 6,865 were deleted and 6,868 were added.
It is not very easy to figure out what the differences in the files
are in this mass of results. I had hoped the comparison would tell
me the 10-12 things that I believe to be different between the
files (script steps, layout objects, etc).
Now, it is possible that the problem is in
how the files were generated. I am not certain but I believe that
one file is clone of the other file. This would reset all the
internal IDs for objects, I would imagine. Is that what IP5 is
using to compare between the files?
